RAC appoints new press team

Pete Williams, former head of press and PR at Somerfield, has been appointed head of PR and comms at RAC with a brief to champion motoring issues.
He is supported by media relations manager Simon Williams, who joins from integrated comms agency Bray Leino where he was an associate director.
The team's first piece of activity was last week around RAC’s sponsorship of the Goodwood Festival of Speed and media centre, and included key 'welcoming' positions around the event's car parks.
The RAC press team will work with journalists on roadside assistance stories and features.
Peter said: "This could involve riding along with a RAC patrol or requesting breakdown statistics from the insight team."
