AA appoints Euro PR manager

American Airlines has brought in Gaucho Productions' Polly Tracey as European PR manager.

In her new role, Polly will work to increase positive media coverage about the airline in Europe, across web, printed press, radio and TV, as well as communicating the extensive network and fleet news to consumer, trade and corporate press.

She will work as part of a team of three based in the UK covering Europe and Asia, and will work closely with general managers and agencies across the division.

The airline uses various agencies across Europe on an ad-hoc basis and uses Weber Shandwick in the United States, China and Japan.

She will report to Ian Bradley, director corporate comms Europe and Pacific.

Polly said: "I am keen to generate some really interesting press about our routes, our senior personnel, our technology innovations, our rich history, our transatlantic joint business with BA and Iberia and our interesting sponsorship partnerships, and I welcome any feature ideas.

"I also plan to work closely with tourist boards and PRs representing the destinations, hotels and business or tourist attractions where we operate."

Polly was previously senior PR manager at media company Gaucho Productions, working predominantly on Honda Motor Europe's lifestyle press across Europe.

She has also worked in-house or via agencies for The Monaco Tourist Board, West Sweden Tourist Board, Icelandair, Sony Music and Landrover Jaguar.
